Normal, IL — Jason Wallace, Green Party candidate for the U.S. House in the 11th Congressional district, will unveil his new campaign vision to supporters and the media in Bloomington on Thursday June 19th. The event, one of six scheduled throughout the district, will focus on Wallace’s “10K08″ financial plan for the general election.

The strategy release event will be the fourth stop in the candidate’s tour of the district. Wallace plans to unveil the core of “10K08″: the placement of a 10,000 dollar spending cap on his campaign for the general election in November. It is an attempt to return the campaign to the grassroots level and away from the increased influence of corporations, special interest, and wealthy private donors. According to Wallace, “It is time for the candidates to focus on the issues that are important to the constituents of this district instead of worrying about raising money for the campaign. Given the state of the economy, we should be more concerned with finding solutions to rising food, oil, and health care costs than with how much money we as candidates can spend”. Wallace will speak to supporters, the public and media at 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller Park in front of the Veterans Memorial. Miller Park is located at 1020 South Morris Avenue in Bloomington.

Events for the “10K08″ release have been scheduled on Wednesday in Joliet at 10:00am, Crete at 12:30pm and Kankakee at 3:00pm. Besides Bloomington events scheduled for Thursday June 19, 2008 also include stops in Peru at 2:00 p.m. and Princeton at 3:30.
