Citizens urged to attend Illinois EPA hearing concerning a proposed coal-fired ethanol plant
Pekin, Illinois−On Monday, July 14, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., the Illinois Environmental Protection
Agency will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed construction of a coal-fired boiler at the Midwest Grain Products ethanol plant in Pekin. The citizens of Pekin will have the opportunity to express their concerns about the construction of the coal-fired boiler. Local Sierra Club members and Sierra Club officials are expected to attend and to raise issues of health concerns from additional pollution as well as global warming concerns.
