IHOP Pancake Day benefits Children’s Hospital of Illinois
(February 18, 2009) – If you enjoy a stack of warm buttermilk pancakes, and a chance to help children at the same time, the International House of Pancakes has a deal for you.
IHOP will host its 4th Annual National Pancake Day on Tuesday, February 24th from 7 AM – 10 PM at both its Peoria and Bloomington locations.
Guests will enjoy a free short stack of pancakes, and in return, are invited to make a voluntary donation. All of the money raised through donations will stay locally and benefit Children’s Hospital of Illinois, a Children’s Miracle Network hospital.
National Pancake Day, which is tied to Mardi Gras, is a centuries old English tradition in which all dairy products were used to make pancakes in preparation for Lent. IHOP, with its signature product of buttermilk pancakes, decided to take ownership of this annual holiday by creating a nationwide promotion designed to thank guests for their patronage and give back to the community. Since beginning its National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, IHOP has raised two million dollars to support Children’s Miracle Network hospitals like Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
IHOP Locations:
Peoria – 5012 N. Big Hollow Rd. 689-8890
