The day is fast approaching for “Tee It Up For The Troops,” a golf classic that will take place on August 31, 2009, at Mt. Hawley Country Club and Arrowhead County Club. This special event will be held to support the men and women serving in the military.
Mayor Jim Ardis is encouraging the community to support this event to show our thanks and appreciation to our veterans and their families by offering them discounts and special acknowledgements. Mayor Ardis stated that, “Tee It Up For The Troops” is a one-of-a-kind outing that will again distinguish Peoria from other communities across the country. Through a variety of different events culminating in the “Tee It Up For The Troops” golf event, many people and businesses in our community will recognize the veterans who have sacrificed by honorably serving our country. These events will not only recognize our veterans for their service, but raise awareness and dollars for the care they have earned and deserve. God Bless our veterans.”
“Tee It Up For The Troops” will take place at Mount Hawley Country Club and Arrowhead Country Club from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Numerous other activities will take place during the day, including a luncheon, silent auction and golf demonstration and cocktail reception.
